On the evening of August 8, 1984 the body of 21 year old Jacqueline Victoria Lambert was found on the side of the road of US 67 approximately 6 miles from Big Lake, Texas. Sadly it took until 1989 to identify the remains as Jacqueline. The autopsy revealed that she had either been hit by a car or throw from one. After fingerprints were located under her armpits, her death was ruled as a homicide. The location of the prints indicates that she had been dragged r thrown from the vehicle. There has been a person of interest identified, however no one has been arrested. This case remains active, but appears to have gone cold.
A Little History of Jacqueline Victoria Lambert: Jackie had been abducted on September 29, 1983 and violently assaulted by 3 women & a man. In 2016, Jackie’s nephew uncovered police reports detailing a graphic assault against her on September 29, 1983. The primary instigator of that assault was an unnamed male acquaintance who had been aggressively pursuing a romantic relationship with her. After she rejected him, he and three women abducted and tortured her. Jackie survived this ordeal and than went to stay at a crisis center in Killeen, Texas. Jackie received constant death threats from this group, which directly prompted her to flee Killeen by hitchhiking with a long haul trucker and traveled to Arizona. During this journey she sent postcards to her family. The last one she sent was from Arizona saying she would be home in 2 days. She never arrived.

The most prominent person of interest is the male truck driver (allegedly from Trenton, North Carolina) with whom Jackie was last seen leaving Killeen, Texas. Witnesses also spotted her in his company at a Dairy Queen or Grandma’s Kitchen restaurant in Big Lake, Texas, shortly before her body was discovered on the shoulder of US-67.
