The Unsolved Murder of Candice Rochelle Bobb & Kyrie Bobb

On Sunday, May 15, 2016, around 10:50pm, Candice Bobb was in the back seat of a vehicle on John Garland Boulevard near Jamestown Crescent. As the vehicle made a U-turn or was stopped to drop off a passenger, an unknown person or persons in another vehicle began shooting at it. Three other people in the car were unharmed.

Candice was shot in the chest and rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. An emergency C-section was performed, and her baby boy, Kyrie Bobb, was born prematurely at 24 weeks. Baby Kyrie died in the hospital three weeks later, on June 5, 2016. His death was determined to be related to his mother’s homicide which made him the city’s 74th homicide victim of the year.

Police believe the vehicle Candice was in was targeted, possibly due to a rivalry between two local gangs, but that Candice herself was not the intended target.

To date no arrests have been made in connection with the murders of Candice and Kyrie Bobb.

The Toronto Police Homicide Squad considers the case to be active and is continuing to seek information from the public. Police have stated that anyone arrested for Candice’s murder will also face charges for the death of her son, Kyrie.

The Toronto Police Service and the family are offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
