The Flight He Never Took: What Happened to Allan Curtis?

More than three decades have passed since Allan Curtis disappeared during a visit to Montréal, Quebec, leaving behind unanswered questions about what happened before he was supposed to return home to British Columbia.

Allan was just 23 years old when he was last seen on November 1, 1993, while visiting his uncle in Montréal. He had plans to fly home from Mirabel Airport, but he never arrived at his destination. What happened between his last known sighting and his intended journey home remains a mystery.

At the time of his disappearance, Allan was described as standing approximately 6 feet (183 cm) tall and weighing 170 pounds (77 kg), with a medium build, brown eyes, and short, curly red hair.

He was reportedly wearing black pants and a blue nylon coat. His belongings included blue luggage, a metal box, a tent, and a green backpack. These items may be important in helping someone remember an encounter with Allan or recognize something connected to his disappearance.

Although many years have passed, even a seemingly insignificant detail could help investigators piece together what happened. Someone may remember seeing Allan in Montréal, encountering him during his travels, or noticing a person matching his description around the time he vanished.

Did Allan make it to Mirabel Airport? Did someone see him travelling with his luggage or speak with him before his planned departure? These are questions that may still hold the key to understanding his disappearance.

Allan was a young man with plans to return home, but that journey was never completed. His disappearance deserves continued attention, and anyone who remembers something from that time is encouraged to come forward. No piece of information should be dismissed simply because it seems small or because so many years have passed.

As of October 2026, Allan remains listed among the missing persons on the Montréal Police Service website. SPVM
