Cheryl Rose Roberts has been missing from Hamilton, Ontario, since early 2025. Canada’s Missing lists February 1, 2025, as her official missing-since date, while Cheryl was reported missing to Hamilton Police on September 5, 2025. The February date should not necessarily be interpreted as a confirmed last sighting, as the national case record does not state that Cheryl was seen on that particular day.

Cheryl’s family had not seen or heard from her for several months before becoming concerned and contacting police. Cheryl was known to lead a transient-type lifestyle and sometimes stayed with friends or acquaintances, and periods without in-person contact were not necessarily unusual. However, as time passed without the contact her family was accustomed to having with her, they became concerned for her well-being and reported her missing.
Hamilton Police explained that Cheryl’s family had not seen her in person for several months. She had maintained occasional contact with them by telephone, but eventually those calls stopped as well. When the lack of contact became concerning to her family, they reached out to police on September 5, 2025.
This leaves a broad window in Cheryl’s publicly known timeline. February 1 is the date officially associated with her disappearance through Canada’s Missing, while September 5 is the date the missing-person report was made. Neither date has been publicly identified as a confirmed last sighting, and authorities have not disclosed when Cheryl was last definitely seen or when she last spoke with her family.
Cheryl was 36 years old at the time of her disappearance and was born in 1988. Canada’s Missing describes her as approximately five feet tall and 101 pounds, with a slender build, fair complexion, blue eyes, and short, curly brown hair. Hamilton Police later described Cheryl as 4’11” and approximately 92 pounds and noted that her short hair may have been dyed blonde or red. No description of the clothing she may have been wearing at the time of her disappearance has been publicly released.
Cheryl also has several distinctive tattoos that could help identify her. She has Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas tattooed on her left calf and Jack Skellington from the same film on her right calf. A cartoon-style Alice in Wonderland scene stretches across the middle of her back, while fairy wings are tattooed on the lower-right portion of her back. Canada’s Missing describes another tattoo on her left shoulder as a rose accompanied by an unknown word or name. Cheryl also has pierced ears and a waist piercing.
Police have said that Cheryl was known to frequent downtown Hamilton, particularly the King Street area. However, with no publicly identified last-known location or confirmed last sighting, reconstructing her movements during the period surrounding her disappearance is particularly difficult.

There have also been no publicly announced confirmed sightings of Cheryl since her disappearance. Police have not released surveillance footage or publicly disclosed cellphone activity, financial transactions, transportation records, or other evidence that could establish where Cheryl went or when she was last known to be safe.
There is currently no publicly released evidence establishing what happened to Cheryl. Hamilton Police have not announced that foul play is suspected, and no person of interest has been publicly identified in connection with her disappearance. Without additional evidence, theories about what may have happened to Cheryl remain speculation.
The circumstances surrounding Cheryl’s lifestyle also make it especially important not to draw conclusions from the length of time between the date associated with her disappearance and the date she was reported missing. Families have different relationships and patterns of communication, and adults may go extended periods without seeing relatives for many reasons. In Cheryl’s case, her family recognized that the lack of contact had become unusual for her, became concerned for her well-being, and sought the help of police.
As of August 2026, Cheryl remains listed as missing through Canada’s Missing, and Hamilton Police’s public appeal remains available.
More than a year after the date now officially associated with Cheryl’s disappearance, fundamental questions about her timeline remain unanswered publicly. When was Cheryl last definitely seen? When was her final known telephone conversation with her family? Where was she staying at the time? Who was the last person known to have been with her? And where was Cheryl when someone last knew for certain that she was safe?
Somewhere within those unanswered questions may be the piece of information that helps establish what happened to Cheryl Rose Roberts. Until that information comes forward, she remains missing, and those who care about her are still waiting for answers.
