Claudia Geburt was a 21-year-old woman who was murdered in her apartment on Leslie Street, near Dundas Street East in Toronto, Ontario on July 12, 1982 – her 21st Birthday.

She died of multiple stab wounds as a result of a “vicious attack”. Her nude body was found by a friend (a former boyfriend, Mr. Beasant) who went to check on her after receiving a phone call from her earlier that day.
Police believe the killer might have been someone who watched her sunbathing on the deck of her home prior to the attack. The apartment had been broken into twice in the month prior to the murder, with jewelry, a stereo, and camera equipment stolen. A neighbor was arrested and charged with these break-ins and possession of stolen property, but police stated he was not a suspect in the murder.
Claudia’s murder was the fourth unsolved sex-related killing in the Toronto area in five months at the time.
It is noted that two months after her death, her fiancĂ©, Charles Boyd, and a close friend, Terri Lukow, were found dead in a separate incident, a suspected murder-suicide. It is unclear if there is any connection with Claudia’s case.
