Details About Elsie’s Case: Elsie was born a member of the Pacheedaht First Nation, but she was sent to residential school as a young girl.

Elsie was last seen in October of 1992 by her family. When she went missing, Elsie was 40 years old and had been living in Vancouver’s Downtown East Side. She was the mother of four. Unfortunately she struggled with alcohol and drug addiction which she ended up supporting by being involved in sex work.

Several attempts were made to report Elsie missing, however the family says they were thwarted by law enforcement every time they tried.

They weren’t able to get an official missing persons report written up until 2001. Her file was moved from investigator to investigator. At first authorities believed that Elsie was a victim of the Pickton Pig Farm Killer. None of the belongs were identified, at least not that the family could identify. Elsie’s DNA was not found on the farm.
