A Little Bit About Lana’s Case:
On October 6, 1995, Lana was given a ride from Northwest Community College, where she was a forestry student to Terrace, where she planned on visiting her family. She was dropped off at a friend’s house and spent the evening in downtown Terrace with friends at Gigi’s Pub and Tim Horton’s. Lana spent the rest of the night at a party with her friends at either a friends home or cousin’s home. At approximately 3:00am, Lana borrowed $30.00 from her friend, Clarice, and asked Clarice if she wanted to go to a party with her. Clarice decided she didn’t want to go. Lana’s family believes she was last seen at 3:30am, where she was partying at a cousin’s house.

The RCMP received tips early in the morning of October 7, 1995, that Lana had been seen at the Copperside Foods/Petro Canada on Highway 16 in Thornhill, BC. A woman who was allegedly the last person to see Lana, claimed during hypnosis that while she was sitting in a car she saw Lana go into the store, then come out of the store, and get into a car that had two men sitting in the front seats.

In 1996, the RCMP released composite sketches of the two men Lana was allegedly traveling with. Lana’s family is not very confident in the validity of these tips.

On October 9, 1995, after Lana failed to show up for Thanksgiving dinner, her family reported her missing. The RCMP and Lana’s family conducted a search along Highway 16. The RCMP called the search off after October 12, which was just three days after she had been reported missing.

Lana’s Aunt, Sally Gibson believes that Lana had been attacked (and presumably murdered) by more than one person.

Lana’s case is one of the Highway of Tears cases.
