Details: Initially it was reported that Ryan had been last seen on July 5, 2024 at 4:00pm at 11th Avenue and 101st Street in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. Later it was reported that Ryan was seen by an RCMP officer on July 6, 2024 at 3:30am while walking north on Highway 4 Battleford. A family member share with APTN that he had asked them for a ride and they said that they were on a call and that they couldn’t give him a ride, but they called him a cab, they said his cellphone was dead. At this point Ryan had not been reported as missing. The family said they were told by police that 20 minutes later, Ryan had withdrew $100.00 from a bank machine and then paid for a cab twice. The family also shared that when police went to the cab company, “they had no record of picking him up anywhere like a date and time’. The police also informed them that Ryan had not withdrawn any additional money from his account since that morning.

There is an unconfirmed report of him being seen on July 8, 2024 in downtown North Battleford.

Ryan’s cellphone was found by someone in an area by the river south of Battleford. When the phone was found it was clean. There was no dirt, debris, cracks or anything to suggest that it had actually been outside and exposed to the elements. The reason that this sends up some red flags is because not only had there been two searches conducted in the exact area the phone was found, the phone had been located one month after Ryan went missing. I actually went and checked the weather report between July 5, 2024 and August 5, 2024 and there was significant rainfall on July 12, 14, 16 and 27. It is not possible for this phone to have been sitting out by the river for a month and not had any damage from the rain, dirt or mud.

Battlefords RCMP have utilized remotely piloted aircraft (drones) to search areas south of Battleford.

Ryan’s family is offering a $3,500 reward for information leading to his whereabouts.

Ryan Nicotine is from Red Pheasant First Nation
