Details: Yolande was last seen leaving her family home on Savary Road in Saint-Antoine-Abbé, Quebec. She was last seen hitchhiking on the side of the road near Route 30. There were a one or two reported sightings of Yolande in the immediate Valleyfield area since her missing date, but she left no trace of where she was traveling to.
At the time of her disappearance, the Sûreté du Québec said that they were not conducting an intensive search as they had no leads that could lead them to a conclusion in this case. The Huntingdon detachment took over the investigation. Photos were distributed to aid the investigation. By mid-March of 1996, all of the members of Yolande’s family and friends had been contacted by police but no one has heard anything from Yolande.

The Sûreté du Québec – Huntingdon detachment has checked with hospitals, CLSC’s (local community health centres), government agencies, banks and customs. All of these agencies were made aware that Yolande is a missing person and were informed to contact law enforcement with any information they may have.
It had been alleged that Yolande had been suffering with depression for an extended amount of time. It is not known if she was taking medication or had been receiving any kind of treatment.
