Details: David was last seen leaving his home at approximately 7:50 am to catch the bus for Camille-Lavoie High School. He never boarded the bus or arrived at school. David had been a victim of relentless bullying for years, primarily due to a speech impediment. The night before he vanished, he told his parents he had been threatened with a physical beating. Law Enforcement and David’s family believe he likely ran away to escape the bullying. There were early unconfirmed reports of hitchhiking sightings in Lac-Bouchette and toward Trois-Rivières.
David’s disappearance prompted the launch of the STAY (Safety, Trust, Awareness, and You) program in Quebec schools to help students deal with bullying and prevent runaways.
