The Unsolved Murder of Wilburn Albert Campbell

At approximately 7:30pm, Regina police responded to reports of an injured man in the 1300 block of Elphinstone Street in the North Central neighborhood. Officers found Wilburn collapsed and gravely injured on a sidewalk near Sacred Heart Community School. Prior to being located, Wilburn was believed to have been involved in a physical altercation in the 1300 Block of Montague Street.

Witnesses described a “horrific” scene with substantial blood loss, which indicated that he had been stabbed, though police initially only confirmed he had serious injuries. Officers performed CPR until EMS arrived; he was pronounced as deceased at a hospital approximately one hour later. Regina police officially ruled the death a homicide on May 12, 2016, which marked it as the city’s third homicide of that year. As of 2026, the case remains listed in databases of unsolved homicides.
