The Unsolved Murder of Jordan Ballantyne

Case reference: 2018-22388
Location: Prince Albert, Saskatchewan
Date of birth: September 26, 1975
Jordan was last seen alive: July 13, 2018

Jordan was originally from Southend, Saskatchewan. He lived a transient lifestyle on the streets of Prince Albert. Jordan was known by family as a peaceful, spiritual person who was a writer and poet.

At 9:07 pm on July 13, 2018, police and paramedics were called to a yard near the intersection of 6th Avenue East and 20th Street in Prince Albert’s East Hill neighborhood. Jordan’s body was located in the yard of a residence and was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy conducted on July 16, 2018, confirmed the death as a homicide. While specific details about the weapon or injuries have not officially released by police, family members noted signs of a struggle at the scene.

At 7pm on July 13, 2018, Jordan was observed walking with 2 unknown males. Male #1 wearing brown T shirt, tan hat, approximately 40-50 years old; Male #2 black long sleeve shirt, mushroom haircut, approximately 35-45 years old. Prince Albert Police Service continues to try and ID these males.

Through investigation, it was learned that Jordan was missing the following very distinguishable items: – Star Wars hat, – black bomber jacket with leather sleeves (has Purple Heart located on the back of the jacket with “75 Years Nokia Brier” and Thanks a million” on the right sleeve) – Grey Rolling Stones t shirt with cut off sleeves.

The Prince Albert Police Service Historical Crimes Unit continues to investigate the homicide. Authorities periodically renew calls for information, most recently in July 2025. Even small details or tips from previous callers could provide a breakthrough.

Every year, family and friends organize a “Justice for Jordan Walk” from Kinsmen Park to the location where his body was found to keep the investigation in the public eye.
