Details About Sarah’s Case: On September 15, 1967, Sarah was last seen as she fell into the Tuktoyaktuk Harbor while trying to board a Coast Guard vessel. Little else is known about the death/disappearance of Sarah Rita Ovayuak. Little else was written at the time. There was no missing persons news release. No media coverage. Sarah Ovayuak was a residential school survivor and after her disappearance her daughter also ended up in a residential school.
