Date of Birth: December 20, 1959
Age: 16 years
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: White
Date Last Seen: July 17, 1976
Location Last Seen: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Case Details: On the evening of July 16, 1976, Rhona, her boyfriend Shawn with their friends Marion and Owen had attended a high school birthday party on East Queens Avenue in North Vancouver, British Columbia. It was supposed to be a small party, however things did get out of hand with people coming from all over North Shore and the police were called at approximately 1:00am. Shawn, Rhona and their friends talked and slowly made their way towards down the street. Shawn and Owen went up the hill towards their homes while Rhona and Marion continued on towards their homes. They stopped and talked for a while at Marion’s stop then Rhona carried on towards her own home. She was last seen approaching the intersection of West 15th.
Rhona’s partially clothed body was located the next morning at about 9:00am in some long grass behind her neighbors garage. She was just a few houses away from her own home. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled. Her cause of death was determined to be from manual strangulation.

Shawn was told by a friend that Rhona had been murdered and later that morning the RCMP arrived to collect his clothing from the previous evening and conduct and interview with him. The polygraph which he volunteered to take along with the DNA he provided many years later cleared him.
Police have said that they have conducted interviews with hundreds of witnesses and suspects. They have also tested the DNA of over 170 people as well. Unfortunately they can only ask for the DNA at this point until they have cause to compell it legally.
Rhona’s murder remains unsolved.
