Champagne Lewis was 25 years old when she was found on a footpath at 85 Galloway Road in a Scarborough park (Galloway Road Park), near a high school and youth facility, at approximately 4:11am on the morning of May 18, 2005. She was found with gunshot wounds and despite life-saving efforts by emergency personnel, Champagne Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene.
