The Unsolved Murder of Lori Marilyn Pinkus

Lori was 21-years old when she was murdered in Toronto, Ontario. At the time of her death, Lori had struggled with addiction and engaged in survival sex work. She had moved from Ottawa to Toronto just one month prior to her death. On Sunday September 8, 1991, her body was found in the parking lot of Brockton High School at 90 Croatia Street. A school caretaker discovered her partially nude body at approximately 9:55am. She had been assaulted, strangled, and left lying on her back, as if “on display”.

The original investigation developed and eliminated many persons of interest. DNA testing was not available in 1991, but recent analysis of evidence in this cold case has yielded a strong male DNA profile of the killer. This profile does not match any person in the national DNA data bank. The case remains open, and the Toronto Police Service Homicide Squad continues to seek the public’s assistance. They have the killer’s DNA and simply need a name to go with it. Authorities are convinced that someone knows the man responsible for the murder.
