Karen Woodcock, a 33-year-old mother of seven, was found murdered in Otonabee Township (now part of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada) on July 1, 1973.

Karen was last seen shortly before 4:30am on July 1, 1973, in the area of Parkhill Road and Reid Street in Peterborough, after calling her sister from a pay phone for a ride.
Her nude body was found later that morning on a quiet stretch of Villiers Line by a passing motorist, approximately two kilometers from her home. The cause of death showed that she had been severely beaten with a blunt object, likely a rock, causing a skull fracture. There was no blood found at the scene, suggesting she may have been killed elsewhere and her body moved. There was also no evidence of sexual assault or defensive wounds on her body.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have continuously investigated this case, following all leads. Her husband was an initial suspect but was later cleared. Due to the similarities with other local unsolved cases, police have considered whether a single individual or group might be responsible for the murders of Karen Woodcock and Brenda Stinson, and in the disappearance of Michelle Bigras, in the same time period.
The Government of the Province of Ontario is offering a total reward of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Karen Woodcock of Otonabee Township, Keene, Ontario.
This reward will be apportioned as deemed just by the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services for the Province of Ontario and the Commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police.
