Details of Lavina’s Case: Lavina was last seen on September 26, 1991 in Parkman, Saskatchewan. She was reported missing by an anonymous caller on December 12, 1991. Investigation and searches have failed to locate her.

On July 2, 1994, The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Saturday they found two men dead of self-inflicted gunshot wounds following a 24-hour standoff at an isolated farmhouse in southeast Saskatchewan. Dave Hoeft told Standard Broadcast News that members of an emergency response team found the bodies of Allan Tocher, 46, and David Tocher, 18, in the house following nearly 12 hours of negotiations Hoeft said no hostages were involved in the standoff. The two were being sought in connection with a shooting death of Roy Wiggins, 45, of nearby Manor, Saskatchewan on June 29, 1994. The standoff began late Thursday after the RCMP located the pair at the farmhouse near Parkman, Saskatchewan 170 miles southeast of Regina.

The reason for the murder of Roy Wiggins is that he was assisting the Carlyle RCMP investigate the disappearance and presumed murder of Allan Tocher’s wife, Lavina Gloria Tocher. Both Allan and his son David were wanted persons in connection with Roy’s murder. Allan & David apparently had confessed to Allan’s 2 daughters, Sherry and Penny Lou just hours before they took their lives. Allan’s girlfriend, Helena Twigge had been charged with first degree murder in connection with Roy’s death and originally was convicted. She appealed in 1996 and the second trial ended in her acquittal.

Sadly, this is where the story of Lavina stops. To date, Lavina has not been seen or heard from and her remains have not been located.
