Details: Diane was last seen on June 19, 2012 when she left on foot from her residence on Boulevard du Jardin in Saint-Félicien at approximately 12:00pm noon. She left without her belongings. At the time of her disappearance, Diane was living with her partner and she had a 6 year old son). In the days following her disappearance, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) and family members conducted a large search operation in the area behind her residence, which extends to the Ashuapmushuan River. An SQ helicopter also surveyed the area. The search was suspended in July 2012.
A new lead came out in June of 2013 when a fisherman reported finding what he believed to be human hair on his hook in the Ashuapmushuan River. This prompted the Sûreté du Québec to resume searches with divers, but nothing was found.
At the family’s request, Diane’s partner took and passed a polygraph test in September 2012. In 2016, investigators requested Diane’s dental records, though the reason for the request was not disclosed to the family. Police have stated that they do not have a particular reason to believe foul play was involved, but they have not ruled anything out.
Human remains were found near Lac Saint-Jean in 2022, Diane’s name was mentioned as one of the two women who had disappeared in the area in the past decade (Hélène Martineau disappeared in April 2017). It is unclear if there was any connection to her case.
