He had been living in Kamloops with his mother on Tamarac Avenue off Schubert Drive off the North Shore. His mother reported him as missing on September 26, 1977, but says authorities did not investigate his disappearance as a kidnapping as she reported it. She told police that two unknown men broke into their home and took Lawrence, shoving him into the back of a black Cadillac.

Lawrence had regularly stayed with friends on the TkʼemlĆŗps te Secwepemc – previously known as the Kamloops Indian Band,.

The initial investigation and subsequent interviews of family members, friends and witnesses over the years has not revealed any specifics of Lawrence’s disappearance. RCMP have no evidence of why or how he disappeared.

In 2018, the family offered a $5000.00 reward for information.

ā€œIt is the RCMP’s hope that by bringing forward Larry Allard’s name, some new information may be brought to light. And, in an effort to get much needed closure, the family is offering a private reward for information leading to the discovery of his remains.ā€

Lawrence Wellington Allard’s family is solely responsible for the administration of the private reward.
