Details: On January 30, 1988, Janette left her young daughter with a babysitter and went to a local Ottawa pub, Ozzie’s Eatery. At around 1:20am, the owner of the pub saw her talking to a man on the sidewalk outside the bar. When she was last seen, she was hitchhiking north on Holland Avenue towards Tunney’s Pasture. The unknown man was walking beside her. The next day a pub employee found her heart-shaped pendant with a broken clasp in the parking lot.
It is unlikely that Janette left of her own volition as she left $600.00 in a bank account and another $788.00 stashed in her linen closet. She had also signed a new lease on her apartment and was a devoted mother.
To date, Janette has not been seen or heard from and remains missing.
