Details : Dawn was a resident of Vancouver’s Downtown East Side. She was last seen near Main & Hastings. Dawn was reported as missing by her doctor on December 11, 2000 after she missed a medical appointment. Authorities say that Dawn was engaged in a ‘high risk’ lifestyle at the time she disappeared.
Foul play is strongly suspected in Dawn’s case.
Additional information: Dawn is on the missing women task force’s official missing women list. Dawn’s DNA was found on clothing discovered at the Pickton farm and while charges were recommended by investigators, however not enough of Dawn’s DNA was found to list her as one of the murder victims at the trial. Dawn Teresa Crey is still officially listed as missing.
Dawn had a difficult life, including witnessing her father’s death as a young child, which contributed to her mental health issues and substance abuse issues. She spent over 20 years living in the Downtown Eastside and had a son who was raised by her foster family.
