Details About Campbell’s Case: On November 9, 2016, Campbell Hunter was last seen in Thompson, Manitoba. Mr. Hunter is known to lead an outdoor lifestyle as a hunter and a trapper. It is unusual for him be out of contact his family for this long. Campbell has been known to travel to the Gimli area, which is approximately 570 kilometers south of Thompson. Campbell was reported missing on December 19, 2016.
Members of the Thompson RCMP, Sustainable Development Manitoba and the Office of the Fire Commissioner searched the area surrounding Paint Lake July 20, 2017. The searchers combed land areas around the lake on foot, with a helicopter picking them up when they had covered one area to take them to their next search location. The Office of the Fire Commissioner provided the search party with a cadaver dog, which is trained to find human remains. Campbell still has not been located.
