The search for evidence in the Mackenzie Lee Trottier missing persons investigation began on May 1, 2024 at the Saskatoon landfill and continued through the month. Saskatoon police announced on May 31 that the search, originally scheduled to end on June 3, would continue for an undetermined length of time.

For more than one month, police and specially-trained dogs have meticulously and methodically combed through a specific area of Saskatoon’s landfill for evidence to further the investigation into Mackenzie Lee Trottier’s disappearance.

The search will be extended beyond its originally-scheduled end date.

“While significant progress has been made, the search of this area of interest has not been completed and investigators remain interested in continuing,” Saskatoon police said in a statement on Friday May 31, 2024.

Mackenzie usually wears heavy make up, black yoga pants, a heavy green jacket and carries a large purse.
