During the evening of November 17, 1988, Suzanne Elizabeth Dube, a 22 year old mother of two young children went missing from her residence in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. Suzanne left her children with a friend saying she had to “check something out” and would be back in a few minutes.
There were reported sightings of Suzanne in the area of the “The Load of Mischief” and the Club 2000 in Lower Sackville during the evening hours of November 17, and in the early morning hours of November 18, 1988. On March 25, 1989, Suzanne Dube’s decomposed body was found in the Bedford Basin, Bedford, Nova Scotia. Initially it was believed that her cause of death was listed as ‘accidental drowning’. The distance between Suzanne’s residence where she was last seen and where her body was found, factoring in the weather at that time of year it is extremely unlikely that she planned on staying out. She was not dressed for staying out in the cold for too long. Overnight – according to the weather history it was 0 degrees Fahrenheit. It is a 5+ hour walk from her residence to Bedford Basin. It is now posted on Crime Stoppers as an unsolved homicide.

It has been suggested that there was a serial killer active in the Halifax, Dartmouth & Lower Sackville areas between 1974 – 2002. While there are some definite similarities, I don’t think that all of these cases are connected. The person who had originally posted about it had a huge list of people who had been murdered or were missing, however the age range and circumstances were far too broad. These are the only ones I can see being at all related. This is only my opinion, but without an actual cause of death for all of these women, we can’t know for certain.
These unsolved homicides MAY be connected:

23 year old Helen Diane Knickle found stabbed to death in Halifax and dumped in the bushes in 1974, not far from HWY 103. She had last been seen walking alone around town in the early hours of the morning.

14 year old Judy Geraldine Parks, found murdered, decomposing and partially covered in bushes off HWY 103 in 1976.

17 year old Florence Ann Keeble was found murdered and dumped in bushes off HWY 306 in 1976. She was last seen at a friends house in Spryfield, before heading to a party on HWY 306.

19 year old Andrea Lynn King was travelling and had just arrived in Halifax when her family lost contact with her in 1992. Her last known sighting was at Halifax International Airport. Her skeleton was found nearly a year later in bushes in Sackville Business Park. The park is located on HWY 102 and is 20min away from Halifax.

27 year old Christine Marjorie McLean‘s body was found in bushes not far from a gravel road connected to HWY 7 in 1998. Police believe her body was dumped at the scene after her murder.
This murder is a possible, but not likely – in my opinion.

21 year old Carla Gail Strickland, found murdered and dumped in bushes off HWY 118 in 1991. She was found near Mic Mac Lake, which is 20mins from Sackville and 20mins from Halifax. On the night of her disappearance, she was seen at a club in downtown Halifax, then at Albro Lake Beach and was finally at 7am, dropped off at a Tim Hortons in Dartmouth to use a payphone.
Until there is more information and an actual connection, they are all individual cases.
