Notable: Terry has a small scar on the upper left nostril of his nose. He has a scar on his inner arm (which arm is not specified). He also has a scar on his lower forehead. Medical records show he suffers from catatonic amnesia, a chemical imbalance and requires medication. Terry has good teeth – Tooth 16 treated, tooth 37 absent.
Terry was last seen wearing: A blue t-shirt, blue jeans or corduroy pants, a beige and brown striped V-neck sweater or an off-white pull over sweater with a black collar & blue size 9 running shoes.
Details About Terry’s Case: Terry was born in Blind River but had been living with his parents in Sault Ste. Marie before he was admitted to the former North Bay Psychiatric Hospital on Highway 11 North in May of 1982.
On July 21, 1982, at 10:00am, Terry was granted limited privileges to walk about the hospital grounds unsupervised for an hour. When he did not return to the ward, the hospital staff searched the grounds and along the highway. When they were unsuccess in locating Terry, the hospital staff reported him as a missing person to police later that afternoon. The police conducted a search of the grounds and building as well as a search of the bush area around the perimeter of the hospital but no one was able to locate Terry.
In the days and weeks following his disappearance, police followed up on leads from the public of possible sightings of Terry in the North Bay and surroundings areas but they were unsuccessful in their attempts to locate him.
Terry remains missing.
