Details About Hamza’s Case: Hamza has not been heard from by friends or family members since December 14, 2011. Originally from Saudi Arabia, Hamza is a student at the University of Saskatchewan studying in the chemical engineering program. Hamza left his passport, wallet, keys and one of his two cellphones in his room. His apartment was located on 2nd Avenue North in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Hamza is a shy and quiet person who preferred to keep to himself. He was mainly seen either on campus studying or at the Saudi Students’ Association socials, where he enjoyed playing soccer. He was friendly and well-liked. He had no known enemies.

Law enforcement says that they have found no evidence of foul play, however Hamza’s family members say it is unusual that he has had no contact with them.

In February of 2012, a jacket that is believed to have belonged to Hamza was found. It is believed that the jacket was left on the walkway across the CP Rail Bridge in Saskatoon, and found by a passerby. The most common theory in Hamza’s disappearance is that he fell into the frigid South Saskatchewan River while out on one of his many walks along the riverbank.

“It’s still very painful. Our happiness, laughter and achievements are nothing as we are still missing him among us. It’s like part of our soul is gone. I am still missing him like he went missing just yesterday”
— Hamza’s sister Laila
