The Unsolved Murder Of Pauline Ivy Dudley
On Monday, August 20, 1973, Pauline Ivy Dudley, 17 years of age was dropped off at her parents residence on Lakeshore Road in the Town of Oakville. Investigation revealed that she spent some time with her mother and left the residence at approximately 10:00 pm. Pauline had indicated that she was going to return to her residence located on the Third Line, R.R. # 1 in the Town of Milton, where she lived with her boyfriend.
Pauline had called her friend Ilona Pallagi and asked her if she wanted to hitchhike with her which was something that they did quite often. Ilona already had plans so she said no. The following day, Pauline’s boyfriend reported her missing.
Pauline was not seen alive again.
Her decomposed body was found by a farmer in a field in the area of Highway 25 and Lower Base Line in Oakville, just south of Milton, a week later on August 28, 1973. Pauline was found fully clothed, with a hairline fracture in her jaw. Her wallet was found nearby. It was clear that there were efforts by the perpetrator to conceal the Pauline’s body under the hay and wheat in the field. Foul play was indicated.
There no motive was never established. As Pauline was found fully clothed and her body was so badly decomposed that it could not be determined if she had been sexually assaulted.
There were several suspects in the past but the investigation never went beyond the point where the police could lay charges.
