Details about Cindy’s Case: In her teens, Cindy became pregnant and gave birth to a baby boy who she
named Tony. She ended up giving Tony up for adoption. As she was adopted herself, she felt this was the best option. Cindy moved to Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside from Kitchener, Ontario. She ended up hanging out with people who used drugs and before long she was doing the same. Cindy ended up working as a sex worker to support her substance abuse.
In the summer of 1996, her family went to Vancouver in an attempt to find Cindy with no luck. Cindy ended up living with her boyfriend at the Vernon Rooms. This boyfriend ended up also being her pimp. He was charged with assaulting her in 1997. Two months after the arrest, Cindy disappeared. It has been alleged that she was pregnant with his child at the time of her disappearance. Cindy was reported missing on April 30, 1998 (allegedly) by her parents.
