A Little Bit About Mistie’s Case:
Mistie was last seen leaving her school on May 31, 1995. She was seen that day attending classes and visiting the nurse.
Mistie left behind a packed suitcase and $200.00 on the top of her dresser along with dozens of photos. Mistie was planning to go on a trip to Halifax to meet the family of the woman who had given her up for
adoption when she was two years old.
Between 2:30pm and 3:00pm on that day, Mistie mad a phone call from her high school to the elementary school where her mother taught, however she never left a message. That was the last time that Mistie tried to communicate with her parents.
On June 1st, Mistie was reportedly last seen at her home, she spoke to her friend in the Bargain Shop in Goderich, Ontario. Three teenagers who knew Mistie told police they thought they saw her walking the following day along Highway 8 from Goderich to Clinton. That was on June 2nd. Another teen, who was a member of the same marching band as Mistie, said she saw her in the crowd at the Clinton Fair wearing a green Seaforth band jacket. That was on June 3rd.
Over the next two weeks there would be at least 20 reported sightings of Mistie, or a teenage girl who looked like her, in London, Ontario. She was also reportedly seen near Dundas and Glebe streets, hanging out with street some kids.
The Ontario Provincial Police have performed extensive searches in the Goderich area, but none found any evidence of Mistie. They suspect she met with foul play and believe she had likely died soon after her disappearance, however her remains have not been located. There is a $50,000 reward for information in her case.
