On the evening of August 8, 1984 the body of 21 year old Jacqueline Lambert was found on the side of the road of US 67 approximately 6 miles from Big Lake, Texas. Sadly it took until 1989 to identify the remains as Jacqueline. The autopsy revealed that she had either been hit by a car or throw from one. After fingerprints were located under her armpits, her death was ruled as a homicide. The location of the prints indicates that she had been dragged from the vehicle. There has been a person of interest identified, however no one has been arrested. This case remains cold.
A Little History of Jacqueline Lambert:

Jacqueline Lambert had been abducted on September 29, 1983 and violently assaulted by 3 women & a man. They tortured & beat her and let a dog attack her. The man involved in this incident had attempted to pursue a romantic relationship with Jacqueline. When he found out that she was not interested in him, he planned this abduction and assault.
Jacqueline survived this ordeal and than went to stay at a crisis center in Killeen, Texas. At this time she started to receive harassing phone calls. At this point she decided to leave. Jacqueline hitched a ride with a long haul trucker and traveled to Arizona. During this journey she sent postcards to her family. The last one she sent was from Arizona saying she would be home in 2 days. She never arrived.
On the day that she died, Jacqueline and the trucker stopped in Big Lake, Texas to eat. (either Dairy Queen or Grandma’s Kitchen) During their visit, an argument broke out and witnesses said that Jacqueline angrily left and walked east out of Big Lake.
It is suspected that either the truck driver or the man who had assaulted her the year before had been involved in her death. Another theory is that she gotten a ride while hitchhiking from another person entirely.
